Svrha Zaklade ostvarivat će se:

• Providing expert and financial support to local stakeholders in creating sustainable development models
• Participating in the creation of an enabling environment for sustainable development in local communities and tourism.
• Facilitating cross-sectoral connections in the development of sustainable tourism, quality of life in Croatia, Mediterranean countries, and the development of sustainable economy and agriculture

The main activities of the foundation will include:

• Promotion and public advocacy for sustainable development of local communities and tourism in Croatia and the Mediterranean (with an emphasis on rural areas)
• Informing and providing support to individuals interested in the sustainable development of communities and tourism in Croatia and the Mediterranean
• Financing joint programs related to community development, with a focus on vulnerable groups – the elderly and youth, women, intergenerational knowledge transfer, and improving the quality of life in Croatia and rural areas of Mediterranean countries
• Organizing public discussions on topics related to sustainable development of local communities and sustainable tourism, community involvement opportunities, job creation, and enhancing community life
• Specialized and interdisciplinary research
• Education
• Technical assistance and counseling
• Publishing

The target groups and beneficiaries of the foundation's activities and programs are:

• Individuals interested in initiating activities outlined in the foundation's program, including sustainable development of local communities and tourism, heritage preservation, and valorization in Croatia and Mediterranean countries
• Representatives of profit and non-profit legal entities interested in implementing activities that align with the foundation's values
• Representatives of organizations and informal groups initiating and implementing programs and activities related to sustainable development of local communities and tourism, or those seeking to get involved
• Officials in local, regional, and national government bodies whose work and collaboration are essential in improving the quality of life and creating sustainable development in local communities and tourism
• Managers and administrators of socially responsible business development programs in the profit sector

Strategic partners in implementing activities include collaborative foundations from Croatia and abroad.

The foundation's governance is determined by the provisions of the Foundations Act and the Decision on the Establishment of the Foundation for Sustainable Development of Local Communities and Tourism, further detailed in the Foundation's Statute. The governing bodies of the foundation are the Board of Directors and the Executive Director.

The funding of the foundation and its activities will be realized through:

• Financing core activities through strategic partnerships for building sustainable development of local communities, tourism, and social economy
• Securing financial support through applications to tenders from Ministries, Karlovac County, the European Social Fund, partnerships with key international organizations, and the profit sector in Croatia
• Donations from legal and regular persons
• Participant fees in education and training programs
• Financing the profit sector through corporate social responsibility programs
• Academic and other professional "in-kind" support
• Financial support from interested international foundations, funds, national governments, etc.
