The year 2024 was marked by intensive work and numerous activities within the i3.0 Strategic Partnership. This partnership, bringing together organizations from four program areas across three countries, focused on empowering local communities through sustainable initiatives and innovative approaches. Here is an overview of the main activities and results achieved with our partners.
Starting Point and Strategic Planning
The signing of the contract to participate in the i3.0 Strategic Partnership marked the beginning of joint efforts by the Zora Foundation, the National Foundation for Civil Society Development, and other i3.0 strategic partners to strengthen local communities through knowledge exchange and the implementation of best practices from across Europe.
Initial Steps and Networking
In June, key meetings were held in Karlovac and Šibenik with participants of the "Community Potential" program. These meetings allowed partners to define priorities and share ideas on maximizing the project's impact. The meeting in Šibenik particularly highlighted the importance of local solutions and cross-sectoral collaboration.
Let us remind you of the strategic partners in the i3.0 Strategic Partnership:
- EURAC Research (international organization) and Zora Foundation for Sustainable Development of Local Communities and Tourism (local partner) for sustainable development of local communities in Croatia and the Euro-Mediterranean region.
- Relatomics Foundation (international foundation) and "Trokut Šibenik" Incubator for New Technologies for a new model of knowledge for social development in Croatia and the Euro-Mediterranean region.
- Public Institution in Culture "Tvrđava Kulture" Šibenik for culture as an intergenerational bridge in Croatia and the Euro-Mediterranean region.
- European Foundation for Philanthropy and Social Development for philanthropy and social innovation.
Community Potentials
Study Visit to Italy
The study visit to Italy highlighted examples of best practices. A visit to the Solos Acquacoltur farm provided insights into innovative models of sustainable food and energy production, while the Vision Garden project demonstrated how to combine technology with sustainable development. Other initiatives, such as the Gallo Rosso association, emphasized the importance of linking tourism and tradition to strengthen rural communities.
First Module of the Program in Zadar
A key activity in November was the first module of the "Community Potentials" program held in Zadar. Through workshops and discussions, participants explored ways to maximize local resources and work collectively on community development. The focus was on practical solutions applicable to different local contexts.
The "Community Potentials" program is implemented in eight cities and three counties, including Karlovac County with the cities of Karlovac, Slunj, and Duga Resa. Over a hundred young people and seniors are participating as creators of positive changes, developing initiatives to improve their communities.
Looking Ahead
The year 2024 brought valuable experiences, connections, and successful activities thanks to the collaboration and dedication of all partners within the i3.0 Strategic Partnership.
We extend our gratitude to all partners for their cooperation, ideas, and efforts in creating a more sustainable future.
We look forward to new challenges and opportunities in 2025, confident that our joint efforts will continue to bring about positive changes.
