As part of Philanthropy Week 2024, the European Day of Philanthropy and Foundations was celebrated in Zadar, where Lidija Žganjer Gržetić represented Foundation ZORA at this inspiring event.
Through various activities and workshops, participants exchanged experiences and deepened their understanding of philanthropy’s critical role in strengthening local communities. The significance of foundations in fostering solidarity and sustainable solutions for community challenges was highlighted.
COMMUNITY POTENTIALS
On Monday, September 30, at the IMPACT Center for Sustainable Development, a creative workshop united representatives of youth, seniors, and cities engaged in the “Community Potentials” program.
Foundation ZORA played an active role, focusing on developing local communities through philanthropic projects and finding innovative ways to involve more citizens in such initiatives. The workshop explored concrete steps and actions to improve community life, emphasizing the role of philanthropy in creating networks of support and collaboration.
We are particularly pleased that representatives from three cities in Karlovac County—Karlovac, Slunj, and Duga Resa—participated in this event. Their presence was enabled through Foundation ZORA’s cooperation in the i3.0 Strategic Partnership, which facilitates regional participation in programs designed to strengthen local community potential. This initiative allowed Karlovac County to actively engage in these discussions, underscoring the importance of regional collaboration in philanthropic efforts
The event also provided an opportunity to network with representatives from other foundations and organizations while exchanging best practices. As an active partner in the i3.0 Strategic Partnership, Foundation ZORA continues its mission to empower communities through innovative philanthropic projects, contributing to the growth and strengthening of Karlovac County cities.
